MSW Field Application Process

MSW Foundation (Generalist Practice) - Residential Campuses

Once students have been accepted into the MSW program and have returned the statement of intent, the Field Office will send an email with the application materials. Students will have the opportunity in the application materials to identify strengths and career focus, as well as issues and populations of interest for the internship. All of these things will be considered as the Field Office assigns students to one of the available internship opportunities. Students will interview with the field director, and the interview may take place either in person, through Zoom, Skype, or over the phone. Students are required to attend an orientation to Field that is offered in August (the same day as the orientation to the MSW program).

MSW Advanced year (Advanced Practice) - Residential Campuses

Students moving forward from the Foundation year into the Advanced year will attend a required orientation to Field that is offered at the beginning of the spring semester of the Foundation year. After the orientation, students will complete additional paperwork and interview with the field director. Students will have the opportunity to identify strengths, career focus, issues and populations of interests and to suggest settings of interest for the internship.

MSW Advanced Standing (Advanced Practice) - Residential Campuses

Once students have been accepted into the MSW program and have returned the statement of intent to enroll form, the Field Office will send an email with the application materials. Students will have opportunity to identify strengths, career focus, issues and populations of interests and to suggest settings of interests for the internship. Students will interview with the field director, and the interview may take place either in person or over the phone. Students will receive information about the required orientation to Field that will take place prior to beginning the MSW program.
