Background
Geneece has researched the church’s response to abuse, how churches and faith affect healing and resilience in survivors, and the impact of institutional betrayal or courage on post-traumatic growth. She has taught numerous workshops on domestic violence and recently published a book on the topic. She serves on the board of directors for the Family Abuse Center in Waco, has testified before the state legislature on bills that affect victims and survivors, and served on the public policy committee for the Texas Council on Family Violence. As a survivor of more than two decades of abuse, she is passionate about awareness, ongoing advocacy, policy implications, and conducting continued research on a variety of topics related to domestic violence.
