GML Scholarship Program
Consistent with the story of Joseph from the Old Testament, the Global Mission Leadership (GML) Initiative believes that God has situated leaders within each country with innovative problem-solving capacity and expertise for community transformation. The GML Student Scholarship Program nurtures the leadership and innovation already abundantly present in these global leaders by providing the opportunity to earn a master's degree in social work. This degree prepares them to return to their home countries for innovative social work practice, education, and research.
Every other year, the program selects several GML scholars to earn their MSW degree through two semesters of residency and internship placement in Waco and two semesters of online classes and internship placement in their home country. In addition, GML scholars share their knowledge and expertise, grow academically, strengthen leadership and practice skills, and diversify networks.
GML Scholars are passionate, innovative, spirited, and determined individuals with strong character and a heart for advocacy. They exhibit…
- Passion to serve people in their nation
- Investment in a specific area of social injustice
- Embodied servant leadership as exhibited by Christ
- Commitment to making a significant social impact in their home community
The GML Scholarship Program continues to grow since its beginning in 2009, and it is continuously shaped by the wisdom and experience of each GML student. The GML Scholarship Program now has 22 global graduates currently contributing to transformational work in their communities. Visit our alumni page (link to alumni page) to read more about their important work.
The next GML cohort will begin in August of 2023. The GML deadline for both the MSW and GML applications is February 1, 2023.
