Women's History Month 2024
In February 1980, President Carter issued the first Presidential Proclamation declaring the Week of March 8, 1980, as National Women’s History Week. Each year after, the dates of National Women’s History Week, (the week of March 8) changed and every year a new lobbying effort was needed until 1987, in which Congress declared the entire month of March Women's History Month. This year's theme is “Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.”
The Garland School of Social Work joins in the celebration, recognition and the study of the contributions of women all over the world, not only in our own profession, but in all facets of humanity.
