How to Apply
Next Cohort Begins: August 2026
Deadline for MSW and GML applications: February 1, 2026
- Begin applying to the Diana R. Garland School of Social Work as a 2-year MSW student.
- Visit this site for MSW application requirements.
- On the MSW application, indicate your intent to apply for the GML Scholars Program.
- The GML application link will be emailed to you once you indicate intent to apply on the MSW application.
- If you have questions about your MSW application call (01) 254-710-7853 or email MSW_Admissions@baylor.edu.
- Contact GlobalMissionLeader@baylor.edu or fill out the GML Scholars Program Interest Form regarding your intent to apply and/or to inquire regarding potential WES Evaluation Fee waivers.
- The GML Program Coordinator will be in contact to help walk you through the application process.
- Apply for the Global Mission Leadership Scholars Program using the emailed link.
- You must indicate on the MSW application that you intend to apply for the GML program in order to be emailed the GML application link.
WES Evaluation fees will be waived for GML candidates who complete all application materials for both applications by November 1, 2025. Contact GlobalMissionLeader@baylor.edu for more information.
What to Expect in the GML Scholars Program Application
- Essays
- The GML Application essay questions are intended to be an opportunity to pause and reflect on your development as a servant leader and calling to your country. Therefore your answers do not need to be performative but instead authentic and reflective of who you are and your development as servant leader in your country.
- Supervisor Reference
- Please ask a current or past supervisor who has directly supervised your work to complete this form. The form will be directly emailed to the supervisor you identify on the GML Application.
- Character and Service Reference
- Please ask a community leader or personal reference who can attest to your character and service to complete this form. The form will be directly emailed to the referee you identify on the GML Application
- Academic Writing Sample
- This sample should demonstrate your academic writing proficiency. It can be a previous paper from your undergraduate or graduate coursework.
- Statement of Intent to return to your home country for two-years of social work service.
