Welcome to the Diana R. Garland School of Social Work! We are glad you have chosen us for your social work education. Your experience is important to us and we trust your time in the program will be transformational. We are committed to helping students live out their passions through practical, skill-based and evidence-based practices.
Our focus at the Garland School is to educate future social workers for worldwide service in a Christian context. This is done through research, comprehensive internship experiences and providing an academically rigorous program. We also seek to cultivate a learning environment that is diverse and inclusive, with a high value placed on respect for difference. Your faculty seek to promote relationships and collaboration through classroom engagement, research and mentorship experiences. We hope you will find the Garland School a place that is empowering, supportive and challenging- we trust your experience will prepare you for excellence in the field of social work.
We believe our program provides a unique learning experience that joins years of practice and research with the uniqueness of each student who walks our halls. I hope you will take advantage of the many opportunities you will have to engage in research, mentorship and practice. This is the beginning of your journey, one that will equip you for a future of helping in an ethical and competent way. Our students are change-makers, we are thankful you have decided to join them in their pursuit of justice and change.
