Year I joined the Garland School of Social Work: 2024
Hometown: Keller, Texas
My favorite thing about Baylor: The community and the size! Baylor is a true middle-sized institution, meaning that you can see the same familiar faces every day and make deep connections with your peers, faculty, and staff, but there are also always new friends to meet and new things to experience.
My favorite thing about the Garland School: The people! While every department at Baylor is welcoming, fun, and kind, we take it to another level at the Garland School. We work hard, play hard, and care about each other with Christ-like intention.
My favorite place in Waco: Be Kind Coffee! You can often find me there ordering a matcha or churro latte and writing.
My favorite hobbies: Writing, reading, drawing, knitting, crocheting, coloring. I love DIY crafts!
My favorite holiday: New Year’s Eve. I love honoring the year that has passed and setting intentions for the year ahead. Plus, my family celebrates with buffalo wings and sliders!
Fun facts about me: I am a slam poet and perform on campus and in Waco on occasion; my husband and I met at Baylor our freshman year and have been together since 2015; I have 16 (and counting) tattoos
This or that:
• coffee or tea
• mornings or nights
• books or movies
• beach or mountains
• Coke or Pepsi
• drive or fly
• cat or dog
• eat out or cook at home
• Instagram or TikTok
• piano or guitar
• green or pink - come to my office on campus and you’ll see what I mean when I say I love both! 💚🩷
What inspires me: Nature, my husband, my son, my family - where does the list end? I receive endless inspiration from all of God’s creation and try to acknowledge and value the privilege that is being alive to see it all.
My advice to you: Take it slowly, but take it! Don’t underestimate the curative power of a few deep breaths. Lean in.
