Application Deadlines for MSIDS Program

Students are admitted 3 times per year in the Fall, Spring, and Summer.
Application Requirements
An application is considered complete when all application documents required for admission have been received and processed by the Baylor Graduate School and the Garland School of Social Work:
- Completion of a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university in any field of study.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Personal Statement: a 2 to 5-page statement highlighting the applicant’s goals and for graduate study and career.
- Resumé highlighting the applicant's academic, professional and extracurricular experience.
- 2 Letters of Recommendation: one from a past faculty member and one personal or professional reference.
- Transcripts (unofficial transcripts are sufficient).
No GRE or entrance exams are required for admission.
A completed application includes submission of the MSIDS Application and all supplemental application materials. Please allow up to 72 hours of processing time for all documents. For additional information, or if you have any questions, please email us at MSIDS@baylor.edu.
Sending Transcripts
- Unofficial transcripts are sufficient for the application process.
- If you are admitted with unofficial transcripts, official transcripts must be sent to Baylor to validate your admission credentials.
- If you are admitted before receiving your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, you are required to provide an official, final transcript with proof of conferred degree to the Graduate School by the first day of class or a hold will be placed on your registration for the following semester and you may be asked to leave the program .

Transfer Students
Have graduate credits already? Up to 50% of eligible graduate credits from another accredited university may transfer, getting you a step ahead in your journey.
Students wishing to transfer to the MS IDS program from other Baylor master-level programs may have more than 50% of their credits transfer if they align with the current MS IDS curriculum. Eligible credits will be assessed on a case-by-case basis by the program director and Garland School leadership.
