SAGE: Supporting Aging with Grace & Empowerment Collaboratory
At the Supporting Aging with Grace & Empowerment (SAGE) Collaboratory, we are fusing cutting-edge science with lived experience to explore what it really means to age with vitality, purpose and power. Our mission is to generate bold, interdisciplinary research and education that transforms practice, informs policy and amplifies voices often left out of the aging conversation.
Why does the SAGE Collaboratory matter?
Aging is not only a personal journey — it’s a global challenge and opportunity. The future requires interdisciplinary research, policy innovation and community solutions to ensure health, dignity, and purpose across the lifespan.
The SAGE Collaboratory matters because populations in the U.S. and globally are aging at an unparalleled rate, creating urgent needs for innovative, interdisciplinary approaches to health, well-being and social inclusion in later life. By fostering collaboration among researchers, practitioners and communities, the SAGE Collaboratory advances knowledge and develops solutions that promote resilience, equity and thriving across generations.
The number of people aged 65 and older is anticipated to double over the next 30 years, reaching around 1.6 billion by 2050, according to some estimates. Click the links below to learn more about the aging statistics here in the United States and around the world.
We are celebrating aging as a journey of growth and connection—through innovative interdisciplinary research, education, and community engagement that empowers all generations to thrive."
