October 14, 2026

Tell us about your current role and the work you do.

Social, Nonprofit & Leadership Student: Sarah Bey
Sarah Bey, SNPL student & Public Relations Coordinator at Methodist Children’s Home

I am the Public Relations Coordinator for Methodists Children’s Home, where I manage projects across our PR team. This includes our quarterly Magazine, Sunshine, print materials, digital media, photography, videography, press releases and social media. I also support various administrative and relational tasks that help our team share the stories of the programs and services we provide.

What inspired you to pursue the MA in Social, Nonprofit & Public Leadership? Why Baylor?

I felt called to connect with and serve others in a more direct way, and the SNPL program seemed like the perfect fit. I knew I didn’t want to go back to school to pursue an entirely new undergraduate degree, but I wanted to grow in my ability to serve others. I came across the program while scrolling online and thought, “This program really sounds like something I want to be a part of.” God had put on my heart a desire to connect with and serve others in a more direct way. After prayer and discernment, I decided to apply. Since receiving my acceptance letter, I figured this journey was a blessed endeavor by God since everyone had been so helpful and welcoming.

Through my work at Methodists Children’s Home, I had also seen firsthand the knowledge and expertise of Garland School Alumni. I wanted to be part of Baylor’s community of people putting their faith into action and serving others in meaningful ways.

What do you hope to accomplish after completing the program?

Central Texas is my home and I hope to help more people in my community. Whether that means supporting someone experiencing homelessness, encouraging a family going through a difficult time, mentoring the youth in photography or videography, or sharing the stories of trauma-informed programs, I want to use my skills to make a difference in the lives of others.

What is something you’re passionate about outside of work and school?

I’m a big advocate for animal welfare! My dog, Hazel, has changed my life in incredible ways, and I encourage everyone to consider adopting or fostering a dog or cat. Shoutout to all the animal welfare workers making a difference for animals in need.
