MSW Concentrations are an option designed to develop a student’s knowledge base more comprehensively in one area of social work practice. Concentrations options are connected with initiatives and students may choose: Diversity, Gerontology, Congregational Social Work, Trauma, International Social Work, or Integrated Behavioral Health. The concentration will go more in-depth into one of the areas of practice listed above, but it does not replace the clinical practice specialization. Students completing requirements of the concentration receive documentation of completion on the graduate’s transcript at the time of the awarding of the MSW degree. The requirements for the concentration are the same for both Advanced Standing and Standard Degree option students, as it is only completed in the Advanced year.
Additional information regarding concentrations will be provided by the MSW Program Director at the start of the academic year.
