What Makes Baylor Social Work Different?
The Garland School of Social Work recognizes diverse expressions of faith and seeks to honor the role of spirituality as part of what holistically shapes a person, their family and community. Perhaps you are interested in social work because of the way your faith has motivated you or others? As part of Baylor’s Master of Social Work (MSW) program, students learn about the influence of these beliefs and values in the profession. We call this our 10th competency, adding to the Council on Social Work Education's (CSWE) required nine.
Our approach to practicum education also sets us apart. Our dedicated practicum team partners with online MSW students to secure internship placements on their behalf. You will work closely with our placement managers who will conduct outreach to identify and qualify your internship assignment. These internship experiences are high-quality, in-person, hands-on and localized for online MSW students.
