Project Manager for the SCRAP Collective (Sustainable Community and Regenerative Agriculture Project)
Andrea Valdez is the Project Manager for the SCRAP Collective (Sustainable Community and Regenerative Agriculture Project), working closely with Dr. Joshua King at the Department of English and Dr. Stephanie Boddie, faculty at the School of Social Work. She works alongside a collaborative team involving nonprofit organizations and the City of Waco, whose mission is to foster a healthy, equitable food system. Concurrently, Andrea is the Compost Coordinator at the World Hunger Relief Institute, creating educational materials around composting and partnering with community businesses to reduce food waste. Andrea actively champions diversity, equity, and inclusion in both roles, bringing innovative solutions to the intersection of sustainable agriculture and community development.
