Background
Evan Copello is a second-year doctoral student with a masters in both counseling and psychology. Evan sees individuals through a systemic lens, with the understanding that people are fundamentally impacted by their environment. Although he no longer does clinical work, Evan is actively working on research promoting religious and spiritual competencies in clinical practice and would like to implement this work towards the inclusion of diverse beliefs in the therapeutic setting. For his dissertation, Evan is interested in religious and spiritual competency across the mental health fields. Evan is uniquely situated with this topic due to his diverse background in each of the mental health disciplines. Evan's goal is to earn a research professorship at a R1 or R2 university after completing his PhD here in the GSSW.
