Background
Prof. Latson practices across the entire spectrum of social work at Legacy Community Health where she serves as Director of Programs-Social Determinants of Health. Here, she develops initiatives to integrate social work practices into the medical setting, while also providing direct therapy services to children and adults and serving with various community advocacy groups. Latson is a passionate advocate for change in marginalized communities. As a returned Peace Corps Volunteer and a resident of Houston’s Historic Fifth Ward, Prof. Latson’s ethos is grounded in relationship building and fostering change by extending the platform from which all community members excel.
