Online MSW Assistant Director of Placement

Kimberly oversees the placement specialists in the Garland School of Social Work and coordinates with other members of the Practicum Education team in order to support the processes of practicum student communication and internship site development. Additionally, Kimberly carries out the duties of a placement specialist, just carrying a lighter load of assigned students to create space for the duties aforementioned. All Placement Specialists assist in the internship placement process for social work students who are required to complete one or two 2-term internship placements depending on their program level. Placement specialists are responsible for guiding social work students through the internship placement process, developing internship sites across the nation, coordinating with the student and the agency in placement, following the policies of the GSSW Practicum Education Program regarding placement and process and replacing students as needed due to placement difficulties.
