Background
Sunnie has a passion for gerontological social work and embraces a strength-based life course perspective when working with older adults and their families. She currently works in a continuing care retirement community as the independent living social worker. Through her work, she strives to support resident’s bio-psycho-social-spiritual wellbeing and contribute to the building of an age-friendly and dementia-friendly community.
Prior to her career in gerontological social work, Sunnie had the opportunity to study and work in the field a global citizenship education as a service-learning facilitator. In her own time, Sunnie enjoys spending time in nature, walking by the lake, and being in the woods. She also likes baking and cooking recipes that remind her of the places she has been and the people she loves.
